About Us

It’s Always a Puppy Life at our House

Personalizable with Custom Dog Photos, Premium Cotton Crewneck T-shirt for Dog Owner, Add Four Photos

I started A Puppy Life to celebrate living with our Labradors. This was done with the hope that other pet owners would share our love for personalized and coordinating pet and human clothing or home decor.

Our Pet Life

Australian Border Force Detector Dog on an Excursion to Bunnings for socialization

Our pet life differs from most because my partner, Jeff, and I foster puppies who are part of Australia’s Detector Dog program. We help nurture and socialize pups from about 9 weeks to 12 months of age. To be honest, Jeff does most of the socialization and the messy clean up too - I’m just in it for the cuddles. You might think it’s strange to say that these Labradors are part of our family since we send them off to work after they grow up. Just like parents sending their human children off into the world, fostering has a bittersweet component. But we keep in touch with our dogs; we receive periodic updates. Sometimes we even see them on the news! Because we always have a puppy under a year old and Heather who over the next few years will have probably 2 more litters of puppies, it’s always a puppy life here.

Currently, we have sweet-spirited little Frey who’s developing more and more confidence right before our eyes. We are also honored to include Heather in our family; she is a breeder for the Detector Dog program. HM will be our forever dog when she retires. Until then she helps us train our foster pups, and works for the Border Force too.

The Australian Detector Dog Program

It is important to note that although I share our puppy life with you on social media, our foster dogs are not ambassadors for the shop A Puppy Life. They are training to be working dogs and represent The Border Force Detector Dog program. Jeff and I are proud to be a part of this and have attended community events that inform families in the Melbourne area about fostering puppies.

Connecting with You

I will also continue to feature other pets in our socials and on our website. For example, Simba, my brother and sister-in-law’s Shih Tzu, was a popular star in several videos earlier this year. I’d love for you to connect with A Puppy Life through Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and Pinterest. We can bond over the joys and frustrations found in life with pets. You’ll also find out about our latest products and promotions.

My Plans for the Future of A Puppy Life

As this business grows, I look forward to highlighting other agencies that provide working dogs as well as pet rescue agencies. I may be interested in starting an ambassador or affiliate program with other pet owners in the future.

Until then - keep living your best pet life! And we will see you around.
